January 1, 2023

The year is 2023. We are in the decade of the change of the world-system. A tectonic shift has taken place in the previous year and a multipolar world is coming into existence. Serious challenges are yet ahead. The year calls our spirits to be strong, our hearts to be lit.

The – now undeniably – collapsing Empire and the Western-ruled world-system it leads do not want multipolarity to be fully installed without a few fights, and military escalation is on the horizon. Even though it cannot win, Empire tends to consider destruction to always be an option. In more essential or rather psychoanalytical terms, we are experiencing a battle between the Death Drive and the Life Drive. Thus, the more life force circulating, the better! Black Moon in Leo (Jan-Oct 2023) wants us to bring forth our very best, contributing to life with our talents, turning the challenges into epic adventures.

The sequence of 2023, 2024 e 2025 (Saturn and Neptune in Pisces) is like the gestation and formation of what has been conceived – the forging of the multipolar world order conceived, started, in 2022; to be fully born by 2026, 2027 and 2028 (Saturn and Neptune in Aries). It has been affirmed with the Jupiter-Neptune conjunction in Pisces in March-April 2022. Now comes Saturn in Pisces to further structure the multipolar dream, to more effectively concretize it.

Jupiter in Aries, Black Moon in Leo and, later, the North Lunar Node in Aries come into the scene to light our Fire, recommending affirmative action, ownership of one’s talents, dignity and sovereignty; aiming for self-sufficiency where possible, whilst at the same time cooperating and joining forces (Pluto in Aquarius); being brave and consistent (Jupiter in Aries, then in Taurus); standing our ground and taking the floor (Node in Aries, BM in Leo).

In return, the year rewards the courageous, the brave (Jupiter and North Node in Aries), and increases the perceived value of what is consistent and concrete (Jupiter in Taurus). It also elevates the quality of aesthetics, due to Saturn in Pisces, Jupiter in Taurus and Black Moon in Leo. Although, make no mistake, there will be plenty of twisted weirdness with Pluto in Aquarius (nothing against interesting weirdness, but that might not always be the case in the Aquarian Pluto period). Albeit, 2023 specifically brings in a fair amount of good taste, with Saturn in Pisces being a fertile ground for dreams to be conceived and concretized.

Of course, not without having to, simultaneously, deal with increased digital control, further changes in the financial and economic sphere, and military escalations.

Pluto entering Aquarius is a huge fingerprint of 2023. Notwithstanding, only by Nov 2024 will he be in full Aquarius swing, after still retrograding a couple of times into Capricorn. His immense transit in Aquarius goes all the way until 2044. Energy is power. And powerful technological advancements are coming. Digital means of control and manipulation through technology are Pluto in Aquarius challenges. Nevertheless, it also signifies Power (Pluto) to the People (Aquarius) and the power of cooperation – people of the world, organize!

Although this great transition of the world-system strongly calls for cooperation, one must be well aligned in one’s own axis to be able to dance with others, so to speak. Like in tango, there is the couple’s axis of alignment, and there is also each of the individuals’ own axis. For a dancing couple’s axis to be well balanced and sustained throughout the dance, both partners must be well aligned each in their own axis as well. How each of us stands our own ground matters much to how well we navigate and how well we are able to dance, to cooperate and join forces.

Self-sufficiency is the geopolitical call of the North Lunar Node in Aries (from Jul 2023 until Dec 2024). The significance of being (truly) independent and having the capacity to stand one’s ground will be strongly perceived.

More and more countries seek means to bypass the dollar, reducing its percentage in their foreign reserves and buying more gold instead. Trading in national currencies, since the bold Gas-for-Rubles move by Russia, is a trend on the rise. The Eurasia Economic Union is developing a new monetary-financial system and the BRICS announced that a new global reserve currency is coming – it will be based on a basket of the BRICS national currencies and backed by precious metals. The Petroyuan gains groundbreaking terrain, as Saudi Arabia, once the grantor of the Petrodollar has agreed to trade oil in Yuan. Dedollarization got an immense boost in 2022, with the month of December being the icing on the cake. In 2023, nonetheless, dedollarization will keep on giving.

The Cornucopia of the multipolar world is made of national currencies, commodities and reliable partners. Relying on commodities and tangible assets is the way to go, and to prepare for the Jupiter-Pluto square (both in the United States’ astrological transits and in the collective astrological transits – April and May). This aspect is a geopolitical classic since times immemorial, when the three mythological brothers – Zeus-Jupiter, Poseidon-Neptune and Hades-Pluto – ruled the worlds. This square will be a conflict between a down-to-earth, commodities-driven Jupiter in Taurus and a the-sky-is-the-limit, power-driven Pluto in Aquarius. Or yet: the bankers vs. the power of the people. From whichever angle you take it, it’s a power struggle, a geopolitical conflict, and a financial and economic challenge.

May 2023 will be a significant month in geoeconomics, with Jupiter entering Taurus in a square to Pluto, followed by Mars forming a T-square (very tense aspect) with both of them. There will be a Taurus stellium for the New Moon, after the first eclipse season of the year. By the end of May and into June, Jupiter conjuncts the North Lunar Node, unmistakably highlighting the importance of the real economy, of commodities, and all things concrete and consistent.

The Lunar Nodes also do their sign transition in a square to Pluto, intensifying the belligerence and transformative effects of their ingress into the Libra-Aries axis – of the self and the other.

That brings us to Venus, who will be retrograding this year, from Jul 23 to Sep 3, in the sign of Leo, where she will conjunct not only the Sun, but also the Black Moon. Considering also the South Lunar Node being already in Libra at the time, July and August are a key karmic moment for all things Venus, especially for relationships. Undoubtedly, a moment to rekindle that which is precious (Leo). Venus retrograde, mind you, is not a period for getting married, neither for doing major beauty procedures, such as a plastic surgery. After the retrograde, by early September, she is finely realigned, in full bloom and in flow with the Lunar Nodes – the path is clear. Yet, the revelations July and August can bring are to be treasured. It will be an import reassessing and resetting time for diplomatic affairs, as well.

The great war for a fairer, multipolar world is being fought on the military, economic and information fronts. The Aries emphasis points to military escalations and the need to be ready to defend one’s ground. The Taurus emphasis, stresses the economic changes that will keep on giving. Whilst Saturn in Pisces tells of the info war and the imaginary dimension of life, where the new world in the making is still being built. Although Saturn in Pisces will be already a reality check to green screens and other falsities, when Neptune and he enter Aries (2026), even those still asleep won’t be able to dodge the wake-up call.

The United States have been financing and training Ukrainian Nazis for years, whilst European countries were using the Minks Agreements to buy Ukraine time to prepare for war against Russia, as clearly stated by former Ukrainian president Petro Poroshenko in June and, recently, bluntly admitted by Angela Merkel and François Hollande. The Empire’s Plutonic death drive peaked in 2022, bringing to the forefront of worldly affairs the US support for nazism – although still in the shadow, as far as corporate western media is concerned, the extent of this ideological stance will become more blatant in 2023 and 2024, especially as Black Moon Lilith transits in Virgo (Oct 2023 – Jun 2024).

Importantly, earlier this year, in the month of March, the Martial tensions triggered or aggravated by Mars in Gemini in October and November 2022 – when he touched NATO’s, USA’s, and Russia’s charts – will, in some way, resurface. And that occurs at the same time when Mars squares Neptune, and also Jupiter and Quiron conjunct in Mars-ruled Aries. That is a period to be in high alert – beware of unconventional warfare, of chemical and biological weapons, of intoxications and contaminations too. Not to mention it is in March that Pluto enters Aquarius (23) and Saturn ingresses in Pisces (7).

Ahead of entering the Piscean realm, Saturn has his final meeting with the Sun in Aquarius in February, just 11 days after a Full Moon squaring Uranus and marking the Fixed signs, wrapping up the Tectonic Dance of the Saturn-Uranus square.

The arrival of the Chinese Year of the Rabbit (aka the Year of the Cat) will really be the opening of 2023 – as Mars, Mercury and Uranus are to be all going Direct, and the New Moon in Aquarius hints at the ingress of Pluto in that sign, taking us into the future.

In the year 2023, as you can see, many are the changes of signs, altering our color palette, so to speak, notably changing the social and global atmosphere.
