In a spirit of mutual respect and equal dialogue, Iran and Saudi Arabia sign an agreement to resume diplomatic ties (see Press TV), which is brokered by China. A sign of the times, in ways more then one. The signing in Beijing is not only a remarkable and inspiring move by Tehran and Riyadh, it also comes in a moment of prominence for China as it, more and more, rises in power.
The ceremony takes place on the same day, and in the same city, as the confirmation of President Xi Jinping ‘s reelection for his unprecedented third term. The agreement is also symbolic of the Chinese leaderships’ aims, expressing the capacity of Chinese diplomacy and the quality of that country as a partner, searching for win-win cooperation and – seriously – contributing for peace and stability in West Asia, by its respect to both Iran and Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and interests.
Moreover, the act of the three Asian leaderships make it clear – perhaps not literally by words, but surely by deeds – that the accurate name of the region is not “Middle East”, but rather West Asia. Historic. Multipolar kind of magic at work, recalibrating the world’s compass.
In Border Trouble vs. Brothers in Arms (Mars in Gemini) times, Saturn enters Pisces and brings green doors to the white walls, to dissolve some ‘impossible’ barriers, allowing for the otherwise unimaginable. China, as host and sponsor, has done the seemingly impossible: the reconciliation of Arabia and Persia. Another milestone in our brave, new geopolitical aeon. Three ancient civilizations join forces and show what can be achieved by mutually-respectful means. Triple Rabbit (day, month, year) means business – and refined, mature diplomacy.
The Moon in diplomatic Libra, at the time of the meeting, was in a harmonious trine to Mars in Gemini, opening not just a window but a door of opportunity for agreement, amidst times of international tensions and complexities (including the Mars-Neptune square).
The rapprochement occurred because of the “shared desire to resolve the disagreements between them through dialogue and diplomacy, and in light of their brotherly ties,” according to the joint communique from Tehran, Riyadh and Beijing, published by the Saudi Press Agency, the country’s official news agency.
Joint Trilateral Statement by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the People’s Republic of China:
Riyadh and Tehran also “expressed their appreciation and gratitude to the Republic of Iraq and the Sultanate of Oman for hosting rounds of dialogue that took place between both sides during the years 2021-2022”, the communique reads.
The two nations have agreed to implement two cooperation agreements witch had been signed previous to the 9/11 era, one in 2001 and another in 1998, when Uranus and Neptune were transiting in Aquarius. Well, as the third transaturnian, Pluto, is now to ingress in that sign this very month, might as well implement them indeed.
Noteworthy is the fact that the Libra Moon also activates the recent diamonds-in-the-sky conjunction in Aries, between the two benefics, Venus and Jupiter – which stresses how, even during challenging times, when sincerity (Aries) and fairness (Venus-Jupiter) truly exist, some real agreements can be reached.
Not at all pleasing for the US empire and Israel, among the beneficiaries are Iraq, Syria and Yemen.
The benefits are extensive beyond the region as well, allowing for more harmonious participation also in other fora. Both West-Asian nations want to join the BRICS. Iran is already in SCO, which Saudi Arabia is also interested in. Considering the weigh of the two countries as oil providers and the strengthening of their ties with China, we can also see how this adds to the cornucopia of dedollarization and its possibilities.
In other words, as Moon of Alabama put it: “Reviving relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran will make a lot of new things possible.”
May the initiative thrive and prosper.
