Black Moon Lilith, the lunar apogee, transits in the sign of Leo: January 8 to October 3, 2023 (mean and main node);

August 1, 2022 to February 20, 2024 (oscillating and additional node).

April 9, 2023

Welcome to Black Moon in Leo’s reign. Catwalk to her tune of gold. An unmatched, visceral glam dominates the undercurrent. There’s a viscerally felt glamour to Black Moon in Leo, which shines not by visual light, but is rather sensed as a peculiar warmth of an indescribable glow, impacting beyond what eyes can see.

A deeply-rooted drive for recognition moves the undercurrent – “to get out of anonymity”, as Sophia Loren put it. This Black Moon signs her work of art in such a way her very signature impacts. In the case of Picasso, the signature became such a mark, it can nowadays be seen on cars, as a means to add value to them. In some cases, just the initials are enough to mesmerise: BB.

The style, the signature, the auteurship. To be sovereign and sign in one’s own name. These are the keys of Black Moon in Leo.

Faking, however, won’t make it. It’s not about vanity, but the creative force of life and its splendour. Royalty here has got to be real. Do you catwalk your talk? Is your art of your own making?

Moreover, the Leo Black Moon is not just about content: “…sometimes you find that a film is looked at solely for its content, without any regard to the style or manner in which the story is told..! And, after all, that basically is the art of cinema” (Hitchcock). This is a cinematographic Black Moon, combining dimensions more than one. The very style or manner of presentation is, in fact, a highly significant aspect to be acknowledged, for in itself it is a statement, to be authentically signed.

Fixed Fire

Black Moon Lilith, the Lunar apogee, is the most visceral astrological point and her transits speak of the undercurrent moving the collective at the most basic, instinctual level. She now transits in the Fixed Fire sign of Leo – Fixed cross, Fire element.

The fixed cross has a capacity to abstract and to operate – it’s the operational dimension. Thus, when the Black Moon is in Fixed signs, this visceral impulse works at the operational level, bringing a visceral edge to operations and missions accomplished.

Whilst when in Fire signs, the Black Moon will indicate a tendency for either a lack of self-affirmation, or a compensating excess of it. There is, at first, a lack of self and ignition, which can then be compensated in an excess of fire and affirmation. Albeit, when the visceral drive is properly channeled in creative action and creative existence, one may go beyond lack and excess, and come to manifest a visceral talent, which impacts beyond words and images – even if operating through them.

In the Fixed Fire of Leo, specifically, the core issue is recognition – acknowledgement. Its flourishing is auteurship and its geopolitical theme sovereignty.

The Psychology of It

A Black Moon in Leo native has had either a queen for a mother, or the mother has experienced issues concerning recognition and proper acknowledgement of her talents and value. Or, yet, the expression of talents was a major driving force to the mother. In one way and/or another, a deeply-set drive for recognition has marked Black Moon natives from a very, very early age. Thus, a visceral sense of royalty can be perceived in those born with this astrological feature. It can be either narcissistic (lack of self and its excessive compensation) or truly regal (dignified authority and visceral talent).

The collective undercurrent, during this transit, is taken by this peculiar glam. At the lowest level, people could be moved by mere envy and vanity. At a more interesting frequency, we are called to honor our talents, sign our names and stand our ground in our own glory.

Genuine recognition and respect of others talents and achievements as well makes for a much more charming ambience.

Plagiarism is an issue which tends to be stirred up, as those unable to originate creations and works of their own, resort to cheap, fake glam, by stealing and copying without acknowledgment of other people’s auteurship – resulting in pitiful versions. No matter how big an investment, fool’s gold can never truly reproduce dignified shine. Real glam cannot be copied – it can only come from the core.

That being said, it is import to sign one’s own work, with no apologies. And the same applies to the sovereign stance of countries. It is crucially important to own it, and stand one’s ground.

Under the Sun Undercurrent

During Black Moon’s stay in Leo, the Sun is her dispositor, her host, so they are specially connected in this period. And rulers, which are generally represented by the Sun, know it in their guts. Ruling is, particularly now, a visceral affair. More than being carried out merely by words and images, it’s sustainment has got to come from the core, from a deeper level of reality, for consistency to be felt.

This transit activates our Sun, calling it forth, giving it a more impactful edge. And what Sun sign one has is how one responds to this period in time at a deeper, more instinctual level.

Furthermore, each month, when the Sun changes signs, a subtle change of tone occurs in the collective undercurrent, slightly altering the photography of cinematographic Black Moon in Leo.

Moon over Aya Sofya – Istanbul

My name is Moon, Black Moon

And I’m in Leo in Ian Flemings chart. It was when Pluto transited in Leo and conjuncted his Black Moon that the author of 007 – Bond, James Bond – created his viscerally glamorous, impactful character.

The Black Moon in Leo is very much connected to the theme of spies and secret agents – how interesting, since Leo tends to be very much out there in the public eye. But when undercurrent Black Moon is the one to set the stage, she adds the complexity of lack or excess. She speaks of the acting quality of a secret agent and points to the issue of identity, of being able to sign in one’s own name, or not.

The Black Moon is a signifier of materializing, forming a body, as she stays for 9 months in each zodiac sign, the equivalent time of a human gestation. Leo is the sign ruled by the Sun, whose related precious metal is gold. When dancing to the death drive’s tune, the Black Moon can be like the golden paint in Goldfinger, objectifying and killing the body. That is what excessive idealisation and vanity can do. Howbeit, when she moves creatively, the body is but a vehicle for the life force to be expressed, for the self to happen and be treasured.

The love for gold and the golden glam and royal touch so present in Flemings work – from his novels’ titles to the name of his GoldenEye villa – are so Black Moon in Leo.

In regards to 007 kind of places, after the author’s native London, it seems Istanbul was the city to host most James Bond movies – apparently five of them were filmed there. How fascinating it was to find out it was founded in 667 AC, a year when the Black Moon did transit in Leo – its mean node in the first months, its oscilating node throughout the year. Amongst the spy’s films taking place in the magnificent ancient city, were Skyfall and From Russia with Love.

At this point I must say: enjoying the Black-Moon-Leo-ness of 007 does not necessarily mean being under the Anglo-American spell. Personally, in my childhood, I recall some of the most thrilling moments in James Bond films were when there were… “the Russians!!” How exciting a reference – I remember to this day the thrill. Even more so now that it has been confirmed: the best “007” is, in reality, Russian. Born on the 7th of October.

Vladimir Putin not only has Black Moon in Leo. He has her in conjunction to Pluto at the top of the chart, conjunct his Mid-Heaven. Can’t make this up. He actually has the aspect which, by transit, compelled Fleming to give birth to Bond – Pluto conjunct Black Moon. Putin was born with it, and in the house of the mission and career, the 10th house. Talk about a badass KGB agent who not only was the head of the FSB (the KGB’s domestic successor), but became the president of a nation which, under his leadership, recovered its sovereignty.

Sovereignty is Gold

Less than a month ahead of Black Moon’s catwalk into Leo, the international interparty conference Eurasian Choice as a Basis for Strengthening Sovereignty took place in Moscow (Dec 14, 2022), gathering dozens of public and political structures from the CIS countries. Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, as a guest speaker, stated:

“Objective tectonic processes are taking place in Eurasia while the West is frantically trying to preserve its domination contrary to political obligations and norms of the UN Charter which state the need to respect the sovereign equality of states. It is trying to blackmail, resort to direct threats and ultimatums and to subordinate all members of the international community without exception to global dictate. The continent’s countries now have an opportunity to freely choose different development models and foreign partners as well as to take part in mutually enriching integration projects. (…) This concerns the introduction of mutual settlements in alternative currencies substituting the dollar and euro, the creation of an infrastructure and economic ties that are not controlled by the West, including contacts between banks. This concerns all aspects facilitating the operation of the economic system.”

The CIS, the CSTO, the SCO, the EAEU, the ASEAN, and the BRICS are organisations and forums where political and economic sovereignty can be affirmed and further developed.

At this moment in time, the claim for sovereignty roars from the visceral depths of our collective. Time has come for a new era and a new balance of power. Where once a glamorous life could be arrogantly sustained at the expense of exploiting others to inhumane levels, reality and karma are now to be faced, and credit is to return where credit is due.

What a karmic twist it is to see Europe in such a blunt state of colony, so willingly abused by the United States, which wages war in the old continent again for its own benefits, whilst dismantling European industry and economy. Once the almighty plunderer of Africa, Latin America, and Asia; now the warehouse of US nuclear weapons, victim of US sabotage and obedient US servant. It’s just as dazzling to see the almighty country built on genocide and slavery now loosing its means of economic manipulation and abuse, as dedollarization unfolds. Subjection to the US empire was fully stablished with the Bretton Woods system, became absurdly detached from reality when detached from gold, but was saved by “black gold” with the petrodollar in the 1970s. Now, however, the petro is making its way to detach from the dollar. And money searches its way back to reality, as the economy of real assets unfolds.

We have been witnessing many countries, in varied speeds and amounts, significantly dumping the dollar and acquiring gold. For Sovereignty is gold and Gold is sovereignty – as Jupiter in Taurus (beginning in May) is about to present yet more clearly, enhancing the value of commodities and real assets.

The reality call is happening at many levels and the stances taken by African officials and personalities have been, more and more, a beauty to see, as Africa stands tall and tells it like it is.

With the Moon transiting in Leo, applying to conjunct the Black Moon, comes Russia’s New Concept of Foreign Policy, issued on March 31, 2023. A rich statement of a sovereign nation, in regards to major trends and prospects for today’s world, it reads:

“The formation of a more equitable multipolar world order is underway. The imbalanced model of world development which has for centuries ensured the advanced economic growth of colonial powers through the appropriation of resources of dependent territories and states in Asia, Africa & in the Occident is irrevocably fading into the past.”

Noteworthy is the reiterated support expressed by the Chinese MOFA Spokeswoman on Monday Apr 3, after the new Russian Foreign Policy Concept having been issued: “Beijing is willing to work with Russia.”

Cooperation between friends (Aquarius Pluto) is made by recognition of the other’s value and sovereignty (Leo Black Moon).

It is with this Black Moon placement that the new era has dawned, with President Xi’s special visit to Moscow. And it’s no coincidence that the African continent was strongly represented at this momentous happening, as the Russia-Africa in a Multipolar World conference was taking place in the city.

Glam classic Breakfast at Tiffany’s was filmed and released with a Leo Black Moon. It seems now, if we are to have the most glamorous breakfast at Tiffany’s, the Red Square is where it should be at… Is there anything more glamorous than being truly sovereign?

That seems to have been the driving command for Ho Chi Minh then, and may it be for Prigozhin now – both Leo Black Moon natives. Check out the interesting list further bellow, showing various manifestations of this astrological position – of lacks and excesses, or dignified visceral talents.

In Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Audrey Hepburn’s character is in search for her true name and identity, and will only find a name to the Cat when she finds her place in the world, where she can belong. Black Moon in Leo catwalks in the world and in our lives now and says: put a cat to the name and a name to the cat! Time calls for expressing our talents and signing our names, standing our ground and shining the light. Auteurship and sovereignty are gold.

VENUS STAR-POINT CONJUNCT BLACK MOON IN LEO

August holds a special moment in this transit, for the Black Moon is to be a special guest at the Venus Star-Point (VSP) – a moment when Venus conjuncts the Sun, marking one of the points of the 5-pointed star drawn by the Sun-Venus conjunctions in a 8-year period.

In fact, in a 8-year period two stars are formed in a superposition: one formed with Venus in Direct motion (exterior conjunctions); another formed with Venus in Retrograde motion (interior conjunctions).

On August 13, 2023, an interior conjunction of the Sun and Retro Venus takes place – with Venus  in revision mode, realigning the ties and bonds in all things Venus. It happens in the Sun’s very domain, the sign of Leo, and will be in conjunction to the Black Moon (within a 2º30 orb, strong).

Venus Retrograde is a period which allows for rekindling of long-lost love, relations, talents, self-esteem, treasures; a moment when matters can be resorted or reconfigured in regards to diplomacy, finance and economics, and values in general. In this combination with the Black Moon, it strongly emphasises the theme of sovereignty – and of of style and auteurship, too.

The timeframe for this activation encompasses the Venus Retrograde (Jul 23 to Sep 4) but begins really in June, with Venus already in Leo, where she will conjunct the Black Moon twice (Jun and Aug), ahead of her conjunction to the Sun (Aug 13). And, right after the VSP, the Sun-Black Moon conjunction also occurs (Aug 17), practically together with the Leo New Moon (Aug 16). Down bellow, at the end of this article, you find a list with the dates and degrees of Black Moon’s transits during her stay is Leo.

That is to say, an interesting configuration takes place in August – beginning to build up in June and spreading a little into September (as MB aspects Lunar Nodes, with Venus going Direct). It has a very karmic significance, a vintage but renewed tonality, connecting dimensions of time and, in some way, reconfiguring what glam is about. The Leo Black Moon is more than Queen, glamour is how she breathes. And, this time, she is right in the VSP and the Leo New Moon.

Rivetingly, the Russia-Africa Summit takes place, in St Petersburg, in the end of July; and the BRICS Summit takes place, in Durban, in the end of August – two significant moments in regards to strengthening sovereignty of nations in the world.
