April 1, 2023

April’s role is to take us from the new era waters of March 2023 to Taurus-strong May 2023 – when Jupiter will ingress in Taurus, through a T-square with Pluto and Mars, and conjunct the North Lunar Node. May is a key month in regards to finance and economics, as explained in the Cornucopia of the Multipolar World works. And April and May happen to be bonded by the eclipse season and the Mercury Retrograde period – it’s important to have this perspective.

Nonetheless, April is also in itself significant – as every month and every year seem to be in the decade of the change of the world-system. This month’s highlights are:

  • Full Moon at 16º Libra, opposite Jupiter (Apr 6);
  • The Sun’s conjunction to Jupiter (Apr 11);
  • Eclipse Season 2023-1 begins (Apr 20 to May 5), with a New Moon at 29º Aries;
  • Sun square Pluto (Apr 20);
  • Mercury Retrograde (Apr 21 to May 15);
  • Varied aspects to the Lunar Nodes (always activating, in some way, our Cornucopia and issues related to finance and economics).

As the first week begins, Mercury enters Taurus and challenges Pluto in a square (Apr 3-4), where words could be destructive or manipulative, or secrets revealed and schemes and bombs dismantled with a bit of effort; whilst Mars wants to move forward, opening the path ahead and bringing energy for accomplishment.

Then just as Mercury reaches the North Lunar Node at 5º Taurus, on April 6, comes the Full Moon in Libra, opposite Jupiter: What is fair? What is really in accordance to Law? What is truly just?

The Sun further illuminates these matters, as he conjuncts Jupiter on April 11 (10-12), at 21º45 Aries. The arrogant may brag, but the righteous simply stands firm, brave, confident.

On the 13, Venus squares Saturn, challenging relations and possibly finance, and Pluto receives the first lunar conjunction in his new Aquarius environment, presenting himself a little more.

Between April 12-26 is when Saturn trines and sextiles the Lunar Nodes. One year ago, he squared them, operating the Tectonic Shift. Now he harmonizes with them, showing some results and, in doing so, where consistency and sustainment can be found, as we keep on sailing forth in the great crossing of world-systems.

Well, well. Right at this point, there is a crucial moment of the month. On April 20, as the Sun squares Pluto (Apr 19-21), a second New Moon in the warrior sign of Aries occurs, doubling down the pioneering edge of the period. It takes place on anaretic degree 29º – in fact, at 29º50 – which indicates a sense of urgency. But why leave it at that, right? Why not make it also an eclipse! There you go. It is a Hybrid Solar Eclipse, too. It opens the first eclipse season of 2023 – you can find out the details for all 2023 eclipses here.

SOLAR HYBRID ECLIPSE – April 20, 4:12 UTC – 29º50 Aries

Saros Solar 129 (which began on Oct 3, 1103)

Path of totality passes over: North West Cape, remote peninsula of Western Australia.

Regions seeing, at least, a partial eclipse: South/East Asia, Australia, Pacific, Indian Ocean, Antarctica.

The square to Pluto is a turbo-charged tension that typically triggers power issues and makes the perverse and abusive driven to a more destructive level. The key with Sun-Pluto squares is not to buy into the power struggle before the culmination of the aspect (Apr 20, 16h26 UTC), but be smooth and let trouble and destruction pass us by. Action can be taken once the exact is past and the destructive intensification eases. I cannot stress enough how important this, even more so as the Sun is being eclipsed. The best is to be as calm, cool and collected as possible.

It is important to be sharp, for there is an additional troublemaker here: Mars will be conjuncting the US Sun, exactly on this same day. Not the best of times to be an American president, let’s say. And the ruler, Sun, tends to be more martial at this time – belligerence could be in, towards and around the ruler.

The eclipse in a square to Pluto is an introduction to Jupiter’s squares to both the US Pluto and to Pluto in the heavens, which will perfect in May (mentioned here). It really is also an activation of the US Pluto Return. In addition to all mentioned above, the eclipse itself squares the US Pluto – 2º30 orb, in the overall context, does count.

On the next day, April 21, Mercury Retrograde begins, taking place on degrees 15 to 5 Taurus. It’s Mars Gatorade – you know the drill: not quite the best period for important business transactions or signing of important documentation, for it could need re-vision and re-making. Things could also take a bit more time, not running as smooth or predictable. Having logistics well sorted ahead, and backups updated ahead, is always a good preventive move. Nevertheless, the period is favorable to revise information and logistics (Taurus is a fixed, logic sign).

It will add to the financial and economic momentum. It is better not to let loose ends lying around, make things as tidy as possible, for a better entry into May and into Jupiter in Taurus (starting on May 16).

I will just have to add that alertness in regards to bio and chemical substances remains important. Black Moon will be in sesquisquare to Neptune: the pernicious are also insidious.

Warnings stated, there are also the good aspects surrounding the eclipse: Gemini Venus sextile Black Moon in shine bright Leo (you got the info ahead and can adventure in better conditions), and geopolitical Pallas trine multipolar ship Neptune (the crossing is meant to take us into better, multipolar waters).

On April 24 (23-25) the Sun also conjuncts the North Lunar Node in Taurus, highlighting the value of precious metals and the economy of real assets. It is also a moment we can gain clarity on the right path to take.

We are in the Aries season now (until the 20) and Aries needs and also sparks joy! Action and creative movement are major saviors.

The top aspect to tune to: the glorious Sun-Jupiter conjunction – standing tall.
